The International Commission for Uniform Methods of Sugar Analysis (ICUMSA) is a global organization that coordinates the efforts of National Committees for Sugar Analysis in over thirty member countries. The work is organized under various subject headings, each led by a designated referee. Initially, methods are recommended for tentative approval by ICUMSA. Once all the Commission’s requirements are met, the methods are granted official status. Methods that are proven useful, have established applications, or are unsuitable for collaborative testing are given an Accepted status.
